| Objective: | Examine the environment, the impact of the textile industry on the environment, and issues facing the textile industry to provide more environmentally friendly products. |
| Text: | Environmental Science, Seventh Edition, by G. Tyler Miller, Jr. Additional readings will be assigned from sources such as Textile World, America's Textiles International, Textile Horizons International, Bobbin, Journal of the Society of Dyers and Colorists, Wool Record, and International Dyer. |
| Attendance: | Attendance is required. It is the student's responsibility to contact faculty members to receive an alternate assignment for the day missed. The only possible reason for an exception to this rule will be if the student provides a University excuse. |

Students enrolled in FCSC 5182 will be required to write an additional 20 page paper to fulfil requirements for graduate credit.
Assignment Due Dates:
Internet discussion questions will be available at http://uwacadweb.uwyo.edu/t&edisc. A new question will be posted by Monday morning each week. Responses must be received by Saturday of the same week, no later than 5 p.m.
Reaction papers must be a minimum of 1 typed page to a maximum of 2 typed pages. Reaction papers will be due 1 week after the guest speakers appearance.
Newsletters will be due Thursday March 25. Topics will be assigned at a later date.
Article reviews will be presented orally. Additionally, a written review of each assigned article will be due Tuesday April 6.
The Environmental project will be graded on its full implementation by Thursday April 15.
Final paper draft will be due Thursday Arpil 15.
Recycled product line project will be presented and due in written form on Thursday April 22.
Final paper will be due on Tuesday May 4.
