ENGL 1010-16, TR 1:10-2:35 Department: Ellbogen CTL Office Hours/Location: Engineering Building, Room 1075 Research interests: I direct the Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning,, an office that assists University of Wyoming faculty to think about and improve their teaching. Take a look at our website to see what we do: www.uwyo.edu/ctl. In this job, I research and write about various issues relating to university teaching. Prior to this, I directed the university’s Writing Center, where I researched and wrote about the teaching of writing. I have a lifelong interest in the literature of the American West. I am writing a history of my great grandfather, one of the early settlers of Saratoga, Wyoming. For this project, I have discovered the fabulous resources of archives. Interests and hobbies: I spend far too much time watching sports on TV: tennis, basketball, golf, the Tour de France, football, baseball, volleyball, soccer. I watch some live sports, too, especially soccer. I travel to visit my adult children who live in Colorado and California. I enjoy running, biking, and hiking. I read. I do the New York Times crossword puzzle every day. Educational Background: B.A. in American Studies, University of Wyoming, 1969 Ph.D. in English, University of Utah, 1976. I am a Laramie native. I moved back to Laramie in the 1980s after having taught at the University of Utah and Texas A&M University. |
