Research Interests:
Most of my research focuses on how students learn best in writing, reading, and research-focused classes. I also study first-year programs nationwide, looking at their philosophies, courses, and students.

Favorite...

Movie: The best movies were made in the 80s. Two of my favorites are "Better off Dead" and "Real Genius."
Book: I don't have a favorite book, but I love Louise Erdrich's writing, especially Love Medicine.

Interests and hobbies:

I enjoy outdoor activities in general, but especially running, mountain biking, hiking, and camping. I try to devote as much of my free time as I can to writing and whittling down my long list of books to read.
