Kappa Kappa Psi is organized as a fraternity to promote a sense of family among its members. This is a reflection of the sense of being part of the great 'Brotherhood" of musicians, and how one may automatically feel close to someone who has the exerience of playing music and participating in the highest of arts. Members of the fraternity are called Brothers, regardless of actual gender, to signify membership in the organization.
