Summer Institute Projects

During the summer of 2009, the Institute will have several projects throughout eastern and northern Wyoming. Volunteers are encouraged to participate, contact the Institute for more information.

The Institute plans to continue the excavation in Last Canyon Cave. The small rockshelter is located on the southwest edge of the Pryor Mountains. May 1-12, possibly longer if necessary.

Continued excavations at the Hell Gap site will be the center of this summer's field work. May 18- June 28, 2009. This includes 4 sessions: May 18-22, May 25- June 3, June 8-17, June 20-24.

The Institute will be conducting research at the Two Moon shelter and BA Cave within the Black Mountain Archaeological District. Dates for Two Moon shelter and BA Cave work will be June 29- July 8 and July 13-22.

Surveys will be conducted in White Creek Canyon located in the Bighorn Mountains in northern Wyoming. Work in White Creek Canyon will be interspersed with work at BA Cave and Two Moon Shelter from June 29-July 22.
