Writer to Visit UW |

Dec.10, 2002 -- Visiting writer, Luis Alberto Urrea, will read "Six Kinds of Sky" from his short story collection on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 8 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Foundation House.
"Urrea is a prolific and acclaimed poet, essayist, and short story writer," says Amy Cox, an office associate in the English department.
National Public Radio selected "Six Kinds of Sky" for its "selected shorts" broadcast. His first book, "Across the Wire," was named a New York Times Notable Book and "Nobody's Son: Notes from an American Life" received the American Book Award for memoir.
The President's Advisory Council on Minorities' and Women's Affairs, American Studies Program, Academic Affairs Office, The College of Education, Chicano Studies Program and the Department of English sponsor Urrea's visit.
