March 4, 2003 -- The effects of terrorism on academic freedom will be among the issues discussed during a University of Wyoming Graduate School forum "The Post-9/11 University," Wednesday, March 5, from 1-5:30 p.m. at Coe Library.
Barbara Chatton, professor in the College of Education, leads the 2 p.m. terrorism discussion. Panel members are faculty members Patricia Colberg, zoology and physiology, Catherine Connolly, women's studies, Janice Harris, English, and Jeff Lockwood, renewable resources.
A panel on "Pedagogical Freedoms and Responsibilities: Teaching in a Social and Political Democracy," is scheduled at 3:20 p.m. Audrey Kleinsasser, director of the Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning, leads the panel. Other panel members are Lew Bagby, international programs, Terry Deshler, atmospheric sciences, Maggie Farrell, UW Libraries, and Rex Gantenbein, computer science.
Bruce Mallory, dean of the University of New Hampshire Graduate School, and Betsy Bedient, immigration lawyer, are the keynote speakers. Activities conclude with a strategic discussion led by Sociology Professor Garth Massey and Graduate School Dean Don Roth. Posted on Tuesday, March 04, 2003
