Second Young Writers Event |

March 26, 2001 -- Writers Hilary Barton Billman, Claudette Cohen and April Heaney will read from their works Wednesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. at Hoyt Hall's Mathison Library at the University of Wyoming. This free event is the second part of "Celebrating the Young Writer Month."
Billman received an M.F.A. in creative writing from Eastern Washington University. She is a museum director in Kemmerer.
Cohen's first novel, "The Seasoning of Rebecca," won the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Year 2000 Outstanding Thesis Award in fiction. Her poetry has appeared in The Southern Anthology, Fireweed, Earth's Daughters, Mainstreet Rag, Owen Wister Review, Aurora, and Bay Leaves.
Heaney received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from UW. She has published poems in college and university journals and in a Wyoming literary journal. She continues to publish essays while teaching and working toward her secondary education certification at Laramie County Community College.
