SITUATION

A work group* of county- and state-based UW CES educators is responsible for maintaining and expanding the UW Extension Food and Nutrition Web site. The following are key points related to the site's recognition and use in 2000:

  • Activity data: From February - September 2000, new Web server software collected and compiled monthly data related to the site's activity.

  •
  • Site feedback: Visitors to the site have been submitting feedback since October 1998.

  •
  • Promotion: UW CES wrote a press release on the site, which was picked up by a number of newspapers state-wide and by UWyo magazine. Additionally, the work group reprinted the Rolodex cards and continued expanding their distribution.

  •
  • Year-end survey: In September 2000, a survey was sent to the 20 UW Extension FCS educators, eliciting information about their use and assessment of the quality of the site. A total of 15 surveys were returned (75% response rate).
