General Notes:

• GIG provides support to persons with gluten intolerances, including celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, and other gluten sensitivities, in order to live healthy lives.

Strengths:

·        Provides current information and links to known research institutions which specialize in gluten intolerance diseases such as the University of Maryland Center for Celiac Research: www.celiaccenter.org, American Celiac Disease Alliance: www.americanceliac.org, and the Digestive Disease National Coalition: www.ddnc.org

·        Includes links to gluten-free recipes, certified gluten-free products and vendors, and a searchable data base for restaurants that feature gluten free menus.

·        Offers information and links related to children and gluten intolerance including a summer kids’ camp.

Limitations:

• Recipes are submitted by individuals and may be untested.  A rating system is in place but is under utilized.
