Publication

The Martes Working Group plans to publish a book based on the Symposium and its themes. Manuscripts on targeted subjects are being invited; others will be considered from among the contributed presentations. All manuscripts will be subjected to internal and external peer review prior to acceptance. We are in preliminary discussions with a publisher, and our shared preference is for synthetic chapters that describe the current state of knowledge on relatively broad topics.  This will result in a book composed largely of review chapters, much like the original in the series (Buskirk et al. 1994). Topics that will be covered include phylogeny, evolutionary history, host-parasite systems, distribution and status, spatial organization, population biology, habitat ecology, bioenergetics and foraging ecology, remote detection using non-invasive techniques, advances in radio-telemetry, population monitoring, conservation genetics, bioregional planning, and translocations.

Please contact Dr. Keith Aubry if you have suggestions or questions about the proposed publication.
