Course Introduction
The importance of how we choose to organize our society cannot be overstated. We can choose to promote unabashed political and economic freedom, or we
can choose to control the economy to protect ourselves from ourselves. This course will introduce you to the key economics ideas that create social
order and well-being. Economics is not about Wall Street; economics is
the study of how we choose to allocate our scarce resources given our unlimited
wants and needs. Economics attempts to understand how the choices we make
today affect the costs and benefits of all citizens today and into the
future. The way
to do this is to come to class, read the material, discuss your opinions
in class, and study for the quizzes and final.
