By Royal Appointment:  Two years ago, the King of Sweden named me his King Carl XVI Gustaf's Professor of Environmental Sciences for 2007-08.   How about that for cool, if I dare say so myself.  My ancestors left Sweden 100 years ago--my guess is they would have never suspected a return trip to the Royal Palace; me neither.  So this is a big honor for my family.    And now I am back.  It was a good year in Sweden.
