Activities!

We currently hold bi-monthly meetings, unless additional involvement on campus is required.  SWEA meetings are held in the University of Wyoming at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings.

A Visit with Senator Enzi
February 21, 2008

SWEA hosted a visit from U.S. Senator Mike Enzi at the UW College of Education on Thursday, February 21st.  The Senator spoke about NCLB reauthorization, legislation in Higher Ed and current issues with the U.S. economy.

WEA Delegate Assembly
April 17-19, 2008

The 76th Delegate Assembly was held at the Little America Resort in Cheyenne.  Over 150 teachers from around the state gathered to discuss education issues and the future of the Wyoming Education Association.

 NEA Connections Conference
November 9-11, 2007

The 20th NEA sponsored "Connections" conference focused on teaching and heroism.  Our keynote speaker was, Manuel Scott - one of the original students from the class of Freedom Writers!  The conference was held November 9-11 at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville, KY.

Kans of Kindness Food Drive
November 1-13, 2007

Sponsored by the Center for Volunteer Service at UWyo.  SWEA members collected and donated cans of food  to Laramie Community Holidays and Interfaith Good Samaritan.  Prizes were awarded for amount collected and structures built with donated items!

 SWEA State Conference
October 19-20, 2007

WEA-sponsored state student conference to promote educational awareness within students majoring in education.  This conference was free to NEA members.
