STUDENT MATH ASSOCIATION OF WYOMING
Post Bachelor Opportunities

A foundation established by the inventor of the handheld bar-code scanner is playing a critical role in preparing more math and science teachers for public school classrooms.

The Janet H. and C. Harry Knowles Science Teaching Foundation sponsors five-year fellowships for college graduates with a bachelor's in the physical sciences or math, and on their way toward earning a master's and teaching credentials.

The program helps pay for their master's degree, but more importantly, provides mentorship, professional development, and monthly stipends during their first years as teachers. Fellows meet several times a year, and stay in frequent contact online.
