Baku Diary, Summer 2004

During a six-week period in May-June, Phil joined a team of lawyers involved in assisting two Azerbaijan law schools in developing curriculum and improving legal education. The project included efforts to develop post-graduate law schools, a series of roundtables for Azerbaijan law professors and site visits to law departments by the five ABA-CEELI project participants. These photographs were made during that visit during which Phil advised on curriculum and met the other project participants, law professors and administrators from Western University and Khazar University, government officials, lawyers, and judges in Baku and surrounding areas. He also viewed a number of law classes and attended an Azerbaijan trial.
