The following were shots taken by Ron Grant. The Northlander trainset coaches were separated, loaded into containers and onto a ship in Saint John, New Brunswick for their trip back to Europe in mid-October 1998. The container bottoms first had to have rails welded to them, then the cars were loaded and chained down. Afterward, paper rolls were loaded all around the cars for protection (the ship normally calls into port to load rolls of newspaper for Europe). The cars were lifted onto the articulated trailers with the ship's forklifts, and then lifted off once inside the ship. From Saint John they are destined for Hamburg where, after importation fomalities are completed, the train will roll to a designated siding in Hersbruck, near Nuremberg.
