REINVENTING REPUBLICANISM     Republicans stand for many of the
things which have made this country great.  In the recent election,
the Republican party lost because it did not embrace those elements
of Republicanism which bring people into their party.  Your final
field assignment, if you chose to take it is to reinvent
Republicanism for 1996.  

     Assume you are advisor to Ms. Dole, the Republican candidate
for president.  Use one or more the concepts below to help
formulate policy for her 1995 campaign in any of the social
institutions below using basic Republican values to justify your
recommendations.  Make specific policy recommendations in the areas
below in such a way as to bring women, Afro-Americans, and lower
class males back into the Republican party.  Remember, they
deserted Mr. Bush and voted Mr. Perot or Mr. Clinton because they
thought that Mr. Bush had used state power to help white, wealthy,
males to their disadvantage.
