| Charged with the critical task of preparing a learned
democratic society, teaching must ensure a moral commitment to
"inquiry, knowledge, competence, caring and social justice,"
(Sirotnick,1990). |
| |
| To be successful though, teaching must be focused on
learning-- change of behavior based on facts. |
| |
| Change in behavior is evident, for example, in the ability to: |
| |
- question constructively while placing knowledge in historical,
contemporary and future contexts
- think, respect, trust, care, communicate and function desirably
while ensuring equality, equity and justice for all.
|
|
To teach effectively, the following
principles are worth remembering: |
| |
-
Humans are creatures of habit and association
-
Passion and determination is key to success
-
In case you're not able to convince with facts, do not dazzle learners
with a lot of information

Success begins the moment we understand that
life is about growing; it is about acquiring the knowledge and skills we
need to live more fully and effectively. Life is meant to be a
