What's the weather like in Laramie? What clothes do I need to bring with me?
In short, nice summer, cold winter. The summer is very nice with a moderate temperature, but it lasts for only 3-4 months. Winter is about half a year with a lot of snow. It's pretty dry and cold unlike most places in China. But if you don't go anywhere else, there is usually no problem. You may need 1 or 2 jackets for outdoor use. Inside most buildings, it's pretty warm. Also, clothes are almost of the same price as in China. You can buy them here. (But the size is usually larger. You may have problems finding the proper size).
Food
Is the food expensive? How much for a month?
It's expensive comparing with the price in China, but not so expensive from the American point of view. It consists of relatively smaller parts of daily expenses. Typically if you cook yourself you may spend $100 ~$150 dollars a month, depending on different person and what you eat. Are there any Chinese restaurants? Yes, there are about 4 Chinese restaurants, maybe they are not as good as restaurants in China but surely better than most American restaurants for your Chinese stomach.
Living

You don't have to. Most new Chinese students stay in the White Hall or Crane Hall, the student dormitory building, before they find suitable apartments and roommates. It? not very hard to find a place to live in Laramie. How much does it cost to rent an apartment? It depends on a lot of things like location, size, condition and time. The apartment of the university may be a good choice for many students. One-bedroom apartment is about $360; Two-bedroom apartment is about $470. Apartments out of the university maybe cost a little bit more than these.
