Business Ethics Education

The University of Wyoming College of Business launched the Business Ethics Education program. Funded by a grant from the Daniels Fund, the program's goal is to develop an ethics curriculum for classrooms across Wyoming and the nation.

Richard C. McGinity is the Bill Daniels Distinguished Professor of Business Ethics, and will be collaborating with educators and professionals not only to author a business ethics curriculum, but also to develop ethics modules for inclusion in conventional business classes, to establish a network of scholars interested in business ethics, and to expose executive, graduate, undergraduate, and community college students to ethical issues.

Exposure to "real world" situations through the interaction of business executives and students and the integration of ethics concepts throughout business curriculum will benefit students as they prepare for their role in today's business world. Wyoming businesses also gain the opportunity to utilize the program as a business ethics and social responsibility resource.

In addition, the grant will allow the College of Business to sponsor the Teaching Business Ethics Conference. Results from the research conducted will be shared with the academic community nationwide with the help of AACSB International, the college's accrediting organization.
