STRATEGIC PLAN 2003

Mission Statement:

The mission of the WMEA (Wyoming Music Educators’ Association) is to further the advancement of music education in Wyoming through public and private instruction, and encourage lifelong appreciation and involvement in music.

WMEA STRATEGIC PLANS AND GOALS:

The WMEA will:

Establish and strengthen relationships with other professional organizations.

•Awards through WAAE

•WHSAA

•WEA, WSBA

•Phi Mu, ASTA, ACDA for Opening Night Concert at All-State

•National MENC, Northwest Division MENC

•Wyoming Arts Council

Increase and broaden the base of our membership to include all grade levels and disciplines of music education.

•CMENC--work harder with the University and Colleges

•Broader based convention, something for everyone

•TriM --increase active chapters, link with National Honor Society

•private teachers and elementary

Maximize its effectiveness as a strong advocate for music education within Wyoming schools and communities.

•List-serve

•create a website available to the general public to disburse information

•make better use of the media, Wyoming Public Radio

•do more with National Coalition of Music Education, partners, legislation

•promote MENC website, NAMM

Provide effective communication and networking opportunities for members and other music educators.
